How to Send an Email to your Teacher

I have two reasons for suggesting that you do it this way. The first is that you will be starting a new email thread, and that means I will be more likely to read it. The second is that Blackboard will remind you to put something in the "Subject" field before you send. (It also helps people who cannot remember the name of their teacher.)

  1. Open our course in Blackboard.
  2. Click Course Resources in the grey menu on the left.
  3. Click Send Email.
  4. Click Select Users.
  5. Click Allen, Curtis (That's the name of your teacher), then click the  >  to put it in the Selected box.
  6. Write the email, including a subject line. It would be a good idea to put your name in the text.
  7. Click  Submit .

Sending attachments

If you need to send a paper to me by email, it's FAR better to send it as an email attachment rather than to paste it into the text of an email message. Here's how:

  1. Do all the steps to start an ordinary email.
  2. Before you click Submit, scroll down and find the blue Attach a file link. Click that.
  3. Click  Browse…
  4. Navigate to the file in your computer that you want to send.
  5. Highlight the file name and click  Open
  6. It’s good practice to include something in the message to identify the file.
  7. Click  Submit .
