Budgeting Your Time for the Research Paper

This material is taken directly from Budgeting Your Time to Complete a Research Paper. (Please do not be put off by the "For Dummies" part of the title. The advice is excellent.) This schedule will be the backbone of our research writing unit.

Please notice that class meetings are canceled three times during this schedule, but I am assuming work continues. If you plan on making the Good Friday/Easter/URCA break into another eight-day Spring Break, you will have to continue writing and working anyhow if you want to stay on schedule. Take your work home with you when you visit your parents.

The five-week plan

One day for finishing touches assumes that you have kept very good records and will not have to spend a lot of time worrying about the format of your citations (parenthetical identification of sources and Works Cited page). You should take care of those issues when you write the rough draft.
